In Remembrance
of You
One of my most cherished possessions is a family member's scripture prayer book from the 1800's. The book contains a scripture and prayer for each day of the year, as well as space for friends and family members to inscribe their names as a birthday reminder or autograph keepsake. Such books were widely collected for both their sentimental and practical value.
Inspired by my heirloom treasure, I wrote this book to capture timeless wisdom and celebrate meaningful relationships in our day and age. While the idea is borrowed from a bygone era, the language, scripture and life-application principles are relevant to our modern lives.
The components of this book include:
Scripture Passage ~ Scripture texts from the Holy Bible (NIV) provide daily wisdom and instruction.
Poetic Prayer ~ Poetic life-application daily prayers foster reflection on scripture principles.
Birthday and Prayer Reminder ~ Pages opposite the daily scriptures provide a place to record the names of friends and family members on their respective birthdays. The names are also a reminder to pray for these loved ones, especially on their special day.
Autographs ~ Family and friends may personally inscribe their names next to their birthdays, creating an autograph keepsake that will be treasured now and passed to future generations.

This book goes far beyond your typical 365-day devotional in that it also has space next to each daily devotion to add friends’ birthdays or memories connected to that date. Imagine the treasure this would be to future generations! I love the vintage concept and design of the book, as well. Classic and timeless. Just a lovely, unique idea!

Just received my copy of Linda Bantten Cotton’s “In Remembrance of You,” ~A Devotional Keepsake~
My very first thought was a faded memory of my Swedish Nana’s Daily Devotional, which she faithfully kept on her nightstand.
Linda’s devotional is a treasure for me as it connects my past childhood memories with a keepsake that contains carefully chosen daily scripture accompanied by beautifully composed poetic prayers. And I love the idea of having space to record personal thoughts and reminders of friends and family birthdays.
As my Nana did, this book will have a very special spot on my nightstand.
